Requirements

Banquet Kitchen Staff are responsible for assisting in the preparation and execution of food services for events such as weddings, conferences, parties, corporate functions, and other large gatherings. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality food.


Responsibilities

  1. Food Preparation

    • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as washing, chopping, and measuring.

    • Follow recipes and instructions to prepare appetizers, salads, main courses, and desserts.

    • Ensure all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

  2. Cooking and Plating

    • Support the cooking process by performing tasks such as grilling, sautéing, and baking.

    • Assist in plating and garnishing dishes according to the chef's specifications.

    • Ensure consistency in portion sizes and presentation.

  3. Kitchen Organization and Cleanliness

    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including kitchen equipment and surfaces.

    • Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes.

    • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a sanitary environment.

  4. Event Support

    • Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen and food service areas at event venues.

    • Support the transportation of food and equipment to and from events.

    • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service.

  5. Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

    • Follow instructions and be adaptable to various tasks as needed.

    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a cohesive working environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Culinary training or coursework is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is beneficial but not required.

  • Certifications: Food safety and handling certification preferred.

Work Environment

Kitchen Banquet Staff work in fast-paced and dynamic environments, including commercial kitchens and event venues. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.


This position provides a foundation for advancing to higher culinary roles, such as line cook, sous chef, or even head chef, with experience and additional training.
